Innovation Pilot Programme

NSN’s Innovation Pilot Programme supports practical, evidence-led approaches to some of the biggest challenges in education.

We work with schools, trusts and organisations to design, deliver and evaluate promising ideas that can improve outcomes for pupils, especially those facing disadvantage.

Our pilots are focused on learning what works, what does not, and what could be shared or scaled across the wider system.

Turning promising ideas into evidence.

The Innovation Pilot Programme supports a small number of high-potential projects to:

  • improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils

  • tackle persistent barriers to learning

  • test practical approaches in real-world settings

  • generate evidence about what works

  • share lessons with schools, trusts, policymakers and funders

We are interested in approaches that are focused, practical and capable of generating useful learning for the wider education system.

Why this matters.

Across education, schools and trusts are developing new ways to tackle persistent problems  - from attendance and engagement to the barriers that prevent pupils from thriving.

Too often, promising practice remains isolated.

NSN's Innovation Pilot Programme helps bring structure, funding and evaluation to that work, so the sector can better understand what makes a difference and how successful approaches might be adopted more widely.
