NSN Director: Fantastic to see Government throw its weight behind free schools at Conference

Monday, September 30, 2019
Responding to the education session at this years Conservative Party Conference, NSN Director Unity Howard said:

"It's fantastic to see the Government throw its weight behind the life changing work of free schools at the Conservative Party Conference today. The panel of free school leaders displayed the diversity and success of free schools across the country, which are transforming life chances for children.

"The Secretary of State was right to single out the work of maths free schools. Kings Maths School and Exeter Mathematics School have repeatedly produced fantastic results; in August this year, 70% of all A Level grades at Exeter were A*-A while Kings Maths School retained its spot as the highest performing state school at A Level.

"We look forward to supporting more universities as they apply to open maths free schools, as well as all groups championing social justice through all parts of the free schools programme.
