The University of Birmingham School

The University of Birmingham School is an 11-19 secondary which opened in 2015. It was established in partnership with the University of Birmingham, whose Selly Oak campus the school is located on. In sixth form, students attend a weekly Horizons Lecture Series, hearing from some of the University’s most exciting academics about topics ranging from black holes to the latest research on Islamophobia. As well as delivering a rigorous academic curriculum, taught by subject specialists, students also undertake a bespoke programme of character education that has been developed for the school by academics in the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues within the University’s School of Education.
