The Stephen Longfellow Academy is an all-through alternative provision school for those aged 5-16 in Leeds. The school, which opened in 2017, is part of The GORSE Academies Trust and can cater for up to 300 pupils who are not thriving in mainstream education. Students are taught national curriculum subjects and have access to a range of therapeutic services such as counselling. Therapy is delivered as both an integrated part of the school timetable but also in groups or on a 1:1 basis. The school aims to bridge the gap between the subjects on offer at mainstream and alternative provision schools so that its students are not at an educational disadvantage.
