Riverside School is a secondary school in Barking. The school, which opened in 2013, is part of the Partnership Learning trust and can cater for up to 1,824 students. Students are divided into three streams according to ability, each with a distinct focus. In the top stream learning is based on a grammar school style curriculum with additional languages and separate sciences, and the lower stream focuses on core subjects in smaller class sizes. These three streams lead onto academic, semi-vocational and vocational pathways at KS4, with all students set challenging targets appropriate to their ability.
