A mainstream primary school in Brough, a small town in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The school, which opened in 2015, was established by an 'Outstanding' local secondary school in order to provide primary school places to parents moving into a new housing development in the area. It will serve 210 pupils when full and has a particular focus on developing pupils' scientific and mathematical knowledge in order to help them develop enquiring and creative, problem-solving minds. The curriculum is based around exploring different themes, first through a key area of scientific investigation about the world around us, and then broadening this to cover a full range of creative and expressive subjects. It is supported through close working with specialist teaching staff at the schools secondary partner, as well as through partnerships with organisations that specialise in maths and science, such as Gaia Technologies.
