Harington School is a sixth form college in Rutland which opened in 2015. The school was founded by a group of local state and independent schools and is part of the Rutland and District Schools' Federation. It can cater for up to 300 pupils and aims to give all its pupils the opportunity to gain the qualifications and grades necessary to be accepted into a Russell Group university. This means that its curriculum focuses on the academic, 'facilitating' subjects which those universities typically require for entry. Pupils are also expected to complete an Extended Project Qualification in which they write a dissertation on a topic of their choice.
