Hadlow Rural Community School is a secondary school for 11-16 year olds in Kent. The school opened in 2013 and caters for up to 375 pupils. As well as focussing on core subjects, all students follow a land-based curriculum at Hadlow College one day a week. This curriculum innovation is achieved through linking classroom activities to the study of land, for example through soil testing in science lessons. Pupils also have the opportunity to engage in a variety of agricultural practices such as working with animals, growing food and tending to plants.
