East London Arts and Music (ELAM) is a 16-19 college in Tower Hamlets, East London. The school, which opened in 2014, has a focus on music and the creative arts and can cater for up to 300 pupils. ELAM was founded by a group of teachers with the support of leading figures from the music industry, including Sir Nick Williams, former Principal at the Brit School and Will Kennard, one half of production duo Chase & Status. It aims to increase the number of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds going into the music industry. It offers pupils a unique currriculum, developed in close conjunction with industry experts, as well as the chance to develop English and Maths.
