Opening as free school in 2012, Music Primary is a mixed mainstream primary school for 4-11 year olds in Bradford. The academy’s mission is that all students will succeed at university, thrive in a top job and lead a great life. It will cater to 420 pupils at capacity and has a specialism in music, which is used to help raise standards of achievement across the curriculum. Pupils take part in a wide range of music and performance activities, including 1:1 tuition and group sessions, with all given the opportunity to learn an instrument. Standards at the end of KS1 in 2015 were 10% above National Figures in all areas. Dixons Music Primary also utilises family dining at lunchtime to reinforce the school’s community ethos and emphasis on healthy eating. Music Primary is run by the Dixons Multi Academy Trust which has seven other schools in the Bradford district.
