Batley Grammar School

Batley Grammar School is an all-through school for ages 4-16 in West Yorkshire. The existing independent school, which was founded in 1612, converted to free school status in 2011 and can now cater for 950 pupils. The school offers its students the chance to join the Combined Cadet Force and it also has Yorkshire's first UN accredited Climate Change Teacher. The primary school curriculm places emphasis on moral, as well as academic development, for example with its 'A Mind to Be Kind' programme. This teaches children to develop a culture of kindness without expecting a reward.
