Join NSN for a Spotlight visit to Reach Free School in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire on Wednesday 27th November 2019. Fill out the sign-up form above.
Our Spotlight visits are half-day events aimed at senior leaders from open, pre-open and applicant free school groups. Host schools share their free school journey to date, provide a tour of their school and share lessons learnt along the way.
This Spotlight is hosted in collaboration with ImpactED, an educational research charity that helps schools to improve pupil outcomes by addressing the ‘evaluation deficit’ – working with teachers and leaders to evaluate the impact specific interventions are having in school. ImpactED and Reach Free School have been working together for about a year, so you’ll get a chance to discuss the impact this has had on teachers and pupils.
The Reach Free School is a secondary school and sixth form in Rickmansworth which opened in 2013. The school spent five years in temporary accommodation before moving their permanent state-of-the-art site in September 2018.
In 2019, the school was judged by Ofsted to be Good, with Outstanding leadership and personal development for pupils. The proportion of EAL students at the school is almost twice that of the national average.
Sessions will include:
- Challenges faced in temporary accommodation and how these can be overcome
- The Professional Development opportunities provided in a small secondary school
- Working to improve progress with ImpactED
Each group can sign up two attendees.
