Spotlight visits are half-day events for senior leaders of open and pre-open free school groups. The host school gives several presentations sharing their best practice and discussing their free school journey, along with a tour of the school to see the great work they are doing in action.
Spotlights are free to attend.
LIPA Primary School opened in 2014 and it strives to cultivate its students love of learning, with a curriculum based around learning through projects and events.
The school is sponsored by the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). It is a centre of excellence for the performing arts which was co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney, and Edge Hill University. Is it also a leading provider of teacher training.
Sessions will include:
- LIPA Music in practice and the pedagogy behind the practice: How the creative and performing arts enrich teaching and learning in the early development of language, reading, writing and mathematics skills
- The development of a free school from a children’s perspective
- Developing effective strategic partnerships with parents and organisations
The school was judged to be Good by Ofsted in 2017.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from the leaders of an innovative and established free school, and discuss the challenges they have overcome.
Each group can sign-up two attendees. The content will be relevant to free school leaders within a primary school.
