Join NSN for a Spotlight visit to Concordia Academy in Romford, East London on Tuesday 19th November. Fill out the sign-up form above.
Spotlight visits are half-day events aimed at senior leaders from open, pre-open and applicant free school groups. The host school provides several presentations to share their best practice and discuss their free school journey, along with a tour of the school to see the great work they are doing in action.
Spotlights are free to attend.
Concordia Academy is a primary free school that opened in 2016 as part of the REAch2 Academy Trust (the largest primary-only trust in the country).
Concordia was rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2019. The school thrives in a challenging area. A high number of students are eligible for the pupil premium and the proportion of students who speak English as an additional language is in the top fifth of the country.
The school opened in temporary accommodation three kilometres away from the permanent site and catchment area. This resulted in busing the majority of students into school for the first two years. The school has now moved to their new state-of-the-art building in Romford.
Sessions will include preparing for Ofsted, the challenges faced in temporary accommodation and closing the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.
This Spotlight has been designed to meet the needs of senior leaders from open, pre-open and applicant free schools. Each group can sign up two attendees.
