Birmingham free school secures a home in the city centre

King Solomon International Business School will open in September 2015 and has secured a site at Waterlinks House in Aston. The free school will create a number of international and educational firsts. It will be Birmingham's first Christian free school, the first international business free school, the first International Baccalaureate (IB) world school and the city's first 'all through' school catering for primary age through to sixth form.

Michelle Newman, who joined King Solomon as Principal Designate this month, said: "We are all absolutely thrilled that the Secretary of State for Education has agreed to enter into a funding agreement with King Solomon as this legal document is the Government's commitment that we will open and is one of the final stages in the process towards opening a free school. It's a clear sign that the Department of Education is happy that we are in a strong position to deliver a high quality education to the children of the local community. It also means that we have been able to make a formal offers to pupils and accelerate the procurement of everything we need to open in September."
