Mark Lehain, the founder and Principal of the Bedford Free School, has written of his experiences after a succesful first year. The school has now grown to nearly 400 students and pupils are making outstanding academic progress.

The school faced a number of challenges as one of the first to be aprroved in 2010, but has gone from strength to strength since it welcomed its first intake of pupils last year. Mark Lehain believes that both Bedford Free School and the policy as a whole have proved themselves to be a resounding success.
