A Hindu group will bid for a new free school in Leicester later this month. The Avanti Schools Trust wants to open the 'Avanti Farm School' for pupils between ages four to 16. The Trust currently runs the Krishna Avanti Primary in Evington, Leicester, which opened in 2011 and is currently oversubcribed. The aim is to open the school in September 2016 with two reception classes and six classes of Year 7 students. It will reach full capacity in 2023.
Avanti Schools Trust spokesman Pradip Gajjar said: "It will be called Avanti Farm school because we are hoping to create something with a rural specialism attached to it. We haven't identified a site yet but we want an ethos that is connected to nature."
