Before starting an application, it is important that you are clear about how much involvement you want in the long term. Some groups just want to promote a school - set its ethos and find an organisation who will run it. Others want to run the school in its entirety. You need to realistically assess the expertise of each group member and how much time they can commit. You will also need to Identify any gaps.
Broadly, there are three Free School models to consider:
- Promoters;
- Sponsors; and
- School providers.
