“We don’t believe larger high schools are the answer. We don’t want to send our children aged 11 to a school of 1500 children. Likewise we don’t want to send our children to a school 4 miles away. The campaign is for a smaller local school and has had a lot of support from local people. The council believes there should be two larger schools while we want three schools of a more reasonable size. We want a local high school with around 1100 children where three quarters of children in the catchment area could walk to the school.”
