NSN Special School Spotlight Visit to The Rise School

Introduction

Join NSN for a visit to The Rise School on Tuesday 14th March 2017.

Description of opportunity

This event is now full; to be added to the waiting list please email open@newschoolsnetwork.org.

The Rise School opened in September 2014 and is the first school to be opened by the Autism School’s Trust. The school is registered for pupils aged 4 – 19 years who have autism. At full capacity the school will have 96 pre-16 pupils on role plus up to 16 pupils in the sixth form. The school’s values – Be Kind, Be Resilient, Be Proud – underpin the school community, who value academic success for all pupils and their social and emotional growth equally. The school is housed in a ‘state of the art building’, as well as academic subjects has an emphasis on learning outside the classroom, pupil wellbeing and mindfulness and offers a bespoke KS4 curriculum to secure future pathways for all pupils.

The visit is a fantastic opportunity to see an open special free school in action, as well as, meet with the head teacher and teachers at the school. The day is also a chance for you to meet other leaders from special free schools.

This half day event, which is completely free to attend, will include a tour of the school, lunch, networking and the opportunity to share best practice.

This visit is aimed towards free school senior leaders and governors. We have a small number of places are available for the visit, which we expected to be in high demand.
